Process for removing prim. amines from largely aromatic oils, obtd. e.g. from hydrogenation or pyrolysis from coal, oil shale, tar sands, mineral oil fractions and hydrocarbon-rich wastes (e.g. used tyres), comprises heating the oil at 50-300 deg.C for 0.5-48 hrs. with an oxidant. - Pref. oxidants are air; and dibenzoyl peroxide, used e.g. at 2.4 wt.% concn. Air may be used at a rate of 1-30 l/h per kg. oil, at normal pressure and at 100-200 deg.C. The air should be dispersed e.g. by an intensive stirrer, ultrasonic mixer or venturi washer. The choice of oxidant depends on the intended use for the oil. Oxidn. is more rapid than that of amines dissolved in pure solvents: other components of the oils are involved in the reaction.
|
