The invention relates to surface coverings for play- and sports-grounds. A surface covering according to the invention comprises a finishing layer made of elastomer granules coated with an epoxy or polyurethane resin. It comprises a drainage sublayer which is a porous resin concrete composed of inorganic granules coated partially with a synthetic resin, in particular with a binder composed of recycled polyethylene mixed optionally with recycled polyvinyl chloride. A thin anchoring layer composed of a linear or graft polyethylene copolymer is sandwiched in between the sublayer and the finishing layer. One application is the construction of tennis courts.
