<p>Method comprises reading beta-phenyl-2-hydroxy propiophenone with epichlorohydrin in presence of an alkali hydroxide in water-dimethyl sulphoxide solvent in 1:1 proportion at 10-60 deg.C, giving beta-phenyl-2(2,3-epoxy-propoxy) propiphenone epoxide. This is reacted with propylamine in inert solvent (methanol, ethanol, is opropanol, dichloromethane etc.) in closed tube at 110 deg.C for 10-18 hrs. under high pressure to give final prod. which is sepd. for purificn. by crystallisation in appropriate-solvent. - Prod. is 2'-(2-hydroxy-3-(propylamine) propoxy-3-phenyl propiophenone chlorohydrate..</p> |
