摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce an optical element at its size and to expand the range of a device to which an optical element can be applied by forming a waveguide having a prescribed pattern on the surface of substrate consisting of a high molecular film having piezo-electric property and forming a surface electrode covering a prescribed area and a back electrode on the back side of the substrate. CONSTITUTION:The back electrode 21 consisting of aluminum is formed on the whole back surface of a substrate 20 formed by a high molecular film having piezo-electric property, e.g. beta type vinylidene polyfluoride having 1.42 bending ratio. The waveguide 22 consisting of a photoresist film having 1.54 bending ratio is formed on the surface of the substrate 20 along the longitudinal direction of the substrate 22. In addition, the surface electrode 23 consisting of aluminium is formed on the substrate 20 so as to cover the prescribed area of the waveguide 22 and the surface of the substrate and a power supply which can vary voltage to be applied is connected between the surface electrode 23 and the back electrode 21.
