PURPOSE:To reduce the influence of a grating groove by forming a means for selecting a transmitting vibrator and its adjacent vibrator or a vibrator group as transmitting vibrators. CONSTITUTION:On the basis of a selection switching signal from a control circuit 10, a switching circuit 2 selects a transmitting vibrator T1 and receiving vibrators T1, T2. A pulser circuit 3 is excited by an exciting signal from the circuit 10, an excited pulse is applied to the vibrator 1, a transmitting ultrasonic wave radiated from the vibrator T1 is reflected by a reflector X and the reflected beam is received by the vibrators T1, T2. The received signal is operated by an arithmetic circuit 7 through the circuit 2, pre-amplifier circuits 4a, 4b, a phase detecting circuit 5, and an A/D converter and the integer phase added data are stored in a frame memory 8. Then, vibrators T2 and T2, T3 are selected by the circuit 2 as the transmitting and receiving vibrators and similarly processed. Consequently, a picture is synthesized by the memory 8 and the picture data of the reflector X is displayed on a TV monitor 9. |
