Process for the ironing out of seam legs of sheet-leg textile structures and apparatus for carrying out the process. The invention relates to the ironing out of seam-joined workpieces of the outer-clothing industry, for example of jacket front parts. The aim is to improve the productivity, seam quality and working conditions. According to the object, the ironing out of the pairs of seam legs is to take place according to different properties specific to the particular textile by uniformly mechanised process steps and preferred means. Proposed for this purpose are: the feed of joined workpieces to a first receiving station; the laying and alignment of their pairs of seam legs on ironing bars and, at the same time, fixing by means of suction air; the opening, spreading and, if appropriate, wetting of the pairs of seam legs before entry into an ironing press station, and at the same time, in proportion thereto, the provision of a second receiving station; of the stroke-movable pressing and ironing out of the pairs of seam legs by means of seam-ironing elements of the ironing press station with a preselected ironing temperature and ironing time, thereafter the lowering of the first receiving station, during which the second experiences, in the feed region, a removal of finished workpieces and a depositing of new workpieces, this being followed by an automatic moving out of the first receiving station and moving in of the second receiving station into a preferably oppositely arranged ironing press station, with similar process steps being continued (Figure 1). <IMAGE>
