A process and twin-tank apparatus for the continuous chromium-plating of bars and elongate pieces of large dimensions is described, with recycle for the elimination of their hydrogen. According to the method claimed, the chromium-plating bath liquid is recycled under pressure, feeding it into the interior space of the chromium-plating anode, orienting the jets of chromium-plating liquid against the surfaces of the piece on the section of the path bounded by the anode itself. The invention also relates to a twin-tank apparatus with a double sealing system at the two ends and with a system for recycling the chromium-plating liquid from the outer tank to the inner tank for implementing the said method. <IMAGE>
