A folding door for closing off door openings consists of two or more segments made of elastic plastic, which are each fastened with their upper narrow side to a respective support profile. The support profiles, which are interconnected by hinges, form a folding linkage. Arranged coaxially with the hinges (7) above the same are travelling carriages (8) which are guided in alternate succession in two guide rails (2, 3) running parallel to one another, one guide rail (2) of which is arranged in a fixed manner along the door lintel and the other guide rail (3) of which, for the purpose of opening and closing the door wing, is displaceable transversely in a parallel position to the first guide rail (2) which is arranged in a fixed manner. <IMAGE>
