Spraying tubes (14) which have inside brushes (20) are required in processing machines, for example bottle cleaning machines. In order to avoid manual actuation of the inside brushes (20) or the complete disassembly of the spraying tubes (14) for cleaning when the processing machine is being serviced or cleaned, at least one indexing bolt (9) is assigned to the conveying chain (4) for the processing cages (5), which indexing bolt meshes with the ratchet wheels (12) which are assigned to the inside brushes. The inside brushes (20) are indexed by one indexing angle for each passage of the indexing bolt (9). In consequence, complete and automatic cleaning of the spraying tubes, including cleansing of the spraying nozzles (16) will have been achieved once the conveying chain (4) has completed a plurality of revolutions, at the latest. <IMAGE>
