The invention relates to a winch drive, in particular for the anchor winches of offshore stations, comprising two drive motors and a multi-speed spur gear unit, in which arrangement it has a combined, partly electric and partly mechanical drive-power branch. The multi-speed spur gear unit arranged astraddle has four pinions which act on the large gear and are driven as power dividers by two floating shafts. The two drive motors are direct-current motors connected in series.
