PURPOSE:To reduce restriction on mounting in an apparatus and eliminate unstable element by providing electrode or similar means so that potential can be applied externally to the desired point of optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:A ring-shaped potential connecting electrode or similar means 6 is provided on an optical fiber 4 for externally determining potential so that distribution of surface potential of optical fiber can be determined externally. Thereby, the condition similar to the potential distribution within an apparatus can be generated and discharge phenomenon between structure 5 of apparatus and optical fiber 4 can be eliminated. The connection between connection electrode or similar means 6 and the optical fiber 4 can be made more reliable by inserting flexible and conductive rubber-like material 7 between them or by winding a metal foil to the optical fiber 4 and then connecting it to the electrode 6. |
