In order to print the tickets, railways use mechanical apparatuses at the interface between the printing and calculating machines. Recently, VDU systems have been introduced as ticket printers, but these have not speeded up the process of selling tickets. The systems are fitted together in bits and pieces and the writing on the monitor, which tires the eyes, is hazardous. The problem is data acquisition. In this context, everything is difficult, firstly the reference books for the reference number of the station and then keying in the same (address). This time which is lost, in conjunction with errors, results in queues in front of the kiosks. The present invention remedies the defects. The ticket printer receives a clear display panel for the destination stations, which panel consists of rows and columns. Associated with each station location is a plug socket which, via a printed circuit, has access to a data-processing system. Once a plug-in pin has been inserted into a plug socket, the reference number is localised directly without any manual selection. Once the class and type have been entered, the start key is pushed. The ticket printer consists of the display board, a magnetic-disk system or a floppy-disk drive, a price file and a dot-matrix printer, or of an additional multiplexer. <IMAGE>
