A planetary gear unit is added at the front handle end to the known screwdriver with ratchet mechanism for clockwise and anti-clockwise rotation. Here, the central gear is arranged on the continuous screwdriver shaft, while the planet web is formed by an outer handle housing and the inner tooth system is allocated to the handle. This permits the normal mode of operation of the ratchet screwdriver with high torque. In addition, rapid driving rotation can be obtained by taking hold of the handle housing and revolving the handle.
