In order to recover the heat dispersed in the smoke and in the draft air in a stack, a heat pump is provided whose evaporator (8) is located in the path of the said smoke and the said draft air in the stack (7). The heat pump uses, as heat transfer medium, a substance having physical properties capable of promoting, in addition to evaporation, also the condensation of impurities contained in the smoke on the evaporator surface. The substance consists of Freon 12, commercially called dichlorodifluoromethane or chlorodifluoromethane. Apart from heat exchange in the evaporator (8), purification and drying of the smoke emitted by a boiler (6) is thus obtained at the same time. <IMAGE> |
