PURPOSE:To improve the resistance of Mg to corrosion, thermal shock and wear and the surface electric conductivity by successively forming an oxide film, a thermosetting resin film and an electrically conductive film on the surface of the Mg. CONSTITUTION:The surface of Mg or an Mg alloy is subjected to chemical conversion treatment to form a film of an oxide such as Mg oxide or Al oxide. A film of a thermosetting resin such as melamine resin or epoxy resin is stuck on the oxide film, and an electrically conductive film of a metal such as Au, Ag, Cu or Al or an alloy is formed on the thermosetting resin film by ion plating or other method. Thus, Mg or an Mg alloy suitable for use as a material for parts of an aeronautic or space equipment, an automobile or the like, is obtd. |
