PURPOSE:To reduce consumption of electrode and to improve machining preci sion by preparing minute carbon powder impregnated with carbohydrate, fats and oils, nonionic active agent, or mixture thereof and dispersing the same uniformly in machining liquid. CONSTITUTION:When work such as SKD 11 steel is finish-machined by discharge machining using a graphite electrode to obtain the surface finish precision of 8muRmax, the electrode consumption rate is 116% in case A in which conventional pure water is used as machining liquid, and it is 32% in case B in which pure water is mixed with a nonionic active agent. If 6% of carbon powder impregnated with fat is mixed in the machining liquid and uniformly dispersed, it is about 6% in case A and about 2% in case B. In other words, this is remarkably effective in comparison with the liquid only mixed with carbon powder. Therefore, machining precision is also improved. |
