PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for treating the jam in a fixing and paper discharging part by providing individually clutch parts to each driving system of a copying machine and disengaging the clutch and driving only the fixing roller when the jammed paper is in the fixing and paper discharging part. CONSTITUTION:The output 14 of an OR circuit 26 rises to a high level when either or both of a paper discharge sensor signal 28 of a paper discharge sensor provided near a paper discharge roller 25 and a residual paper sensor signal 29 of a residual paper sensor provided just before a fixing device 24 are at the high level. The generation of a jam in the fixing and paper discharging part 4 is assumed here. Then the jam signal 13 is of the high level and the output signal 14 of the OR circuit is at the high level as well, and therefore the output signal 16 of an AND circuit rises to the high level. Control is so executed in a microcomputer that the driving of a main motor 5 is not transmitted to the driving of each part only when the signal 16 is at the high level. The driving of the main motor is therefore transmitted only to the fixing device and paper discharge rollers 24, 25 and the jammed paper is automatically discharged. |
