摘要 PURPOSE:To enhance the efficiency of an external surface processing device such as self-directing mechanism of a handling head for the core of a reactor by providing a multi-edge cutter, rotating round an axis intersecting the longitudinal axis of each work to be processed, with capability of as well revolving as moving transversely. CONSTITUTION:When a cutter 50 is rotated for machining and a spindle chuck 23 is spun, the spindle 38, cutter head mounting flange 42 and cutter head 48 are rotated at the internal surface 25a of the bearing for the spindle head 25 through the action of a drive shaft 24, shaft joint 29, gears 30, 31a, 31b, planetary gearing 33, gear 37, planetary gearing 39, hear 35, and differential gearing 37, while a feed screw 81 is spun and a slide table 87 slides on a bed 22. Accordingly the cutter 50 makes machining along the lead angle of the self-orientation slope on the handling head 1a. Thus, one synchronization provides a complete processing of one surface to ensure shortening of the processing time.
