PURPOSE:To improve engine output and efficiency ever so better, by installing an apparatus which reciprocates inside a cylinder, shifting between an expansion space and a compression space inside the engine, and opens or closes a hydraulic fluid passage, while performing heat exchange between a hydraulic fluid and a hear source intermittently. CONSTITUTION:When a displacer 1 reciprocates inside a cylinder 2, a hydraulic fluid inside the cylinder 2 passes through a flow passage 3 and a cooler 4, a regenerator 5 and a heater 6 and shuttles between an expansion space 7 and a compression space 8. At the abovementioned, a cylindrical passage on-off apparatus 11 is installed on a bottom surface at the side of the compression space 8 of the displacer 1, and at the inner surface, a power piston 9 is reciprocated. And, in this on-off apparatus 11, there are provided with plural hydraulic fluid passing holes 12, while an outlet at the side of the compression space 8 of the flow passage 3 is opened an and around both top and bottom dead points of the displacer 1, and then is made so as to be closed in and around the center. With this constitution, the hydraulic fluid is made to flow into the heater 6, the regenerator 5 and the cooler 4 intermittently at high speed, thus a heat transfer rate is improved. |
