PURPOSE:To execute the change-over of treatment zones in a short period by spraying a surface treating liquid and hot water from the outside or the bottom of a strip side edge in various treating zones and turning outward and upward the booth ceiling thereof to drain the liquid. CONSTITUTION:The surface treating liquid and hot water are successively sprayed by nozzles 26, 27 from the outside or bottom of the side edge of the metallic strip in the stage of holding the strip in a horizontal state and passing selectively the strip through the various surface treating zones, for example, phosphate treating zone and chromate treating zone via rollers 13. A crank arm 21 is turned by using a fluid pressure cylinder and the booth ceiling 15 is turned from the close position of a solid line to the open position of an alternate long and short dash line by a supporting arm 29 in the stage of changing over the treating zones. The succeeding treatment is thus executed with the shorter time for waiting the stop of the falling of the treating liquid prior to the change over in the stage of changing over the treating zones. |
