PURPOSE:To elongate the life of cutting effect and to improve efficiency of a disc-shaped cutter for cutting a metal tube by forming small notches at a regular pitches wholly around the tip portion formed in the peripheral portion of the cutter. CONSTITUTION:There are formed extremely small arcuate notches 5 at regular pitches wholly around a tip portion 3. Because of this construction, the cutting force applied to a metal tube by the tip portion 3 is remarkably enlarged by the notches 5 of the tip portion 3, permitting easy penetration through the tube wall and easy cutting. Therefore, cutting speed is increased. Furthermore, as the depth of cut is increased, the transverse force applied to the edge surface is received by the thick portion of the edge, causing prevention of damage of the edge and elongated life thereof. |
