A reflective road marking apparatus 1 is adapted to be secured at the roadside, and comprises a stake 3, which is adapted to be driven into the ground. An upright portion 7 engages on the top of the stake 3, and supports a rectangular frame 8, within which a light reflecting element 15 is slidably received. A canopy 12 at the top of the frame 8 serves to shield the element 15 from falling snow and to direct rainwater over the element 15, to clean it, whilst a mudguard 11 at one side of the frame 8 serves to protect the element 15 from mud splashed by passing traffic. The element 15 may display a letter, and a plurality of apparatuses 1 may be used in succession, to build up a warning - e.g. "S-L-O-W". <IMAGE> |
