A catalyst of known properties is used to bring about combustion, and hence water reconstitution of the hydrogen oxygen mixture released during charge and discharge and feedback of the water into the cell takes place. The whole electrode structure and casing are enclosed in a material, such as filter paper, which is porous to air and liquids but impervious to the catalyst. Perforated plastic spacers and either fibreglass wool or a perforated plastic plate may be used in the catalyst container. |
