Metal cakes are cleaned up-ended by cleansant injected through the spigot immersion tube and drawn off through the gas valves. Pulses of gaseous or vapour form pressure medium are imposed on the cleansant at intervals to scour the bottoms and spigot fitments in the cask. At the end of the rinse, the medium pulses are stopped and the cleansant flow choked right down to flush round the tube and spigot fitments. |
