PURPOSE:To prevent the levitation of printing paper by providing a platen with many air suction holes and an air suction fan to work in conjunction with the transverse feeding action of a carrier on which a printer is mounted for a printer to feed printing papers along the platen and to perform printing. CONSTITUTION:An air suction fan 9 is provided to a platen 2. When a pulley 7 attached to a spacing motor 5 is turned at the same time as the printer 3 is moved, a belt 8 engaged with the pulley 7 is moved to turn the fan 9. Many small air suction holes 11 are drilled in the cylindrical surface of the platen 2 of a cylindrical form, whose opposite side to the fan 9-attached portion is closed. When the fan 9 is turned, the air in the platen 2 is discharged and air is sucked through the holes in the surface of the platen 2, thereby causing a paper to closely contact with the platen 2 to prevent the floating of the paper. |
