The chopper-regulated steps (38,38') are controlled via a processor (14) using digital signals. A micro-step module (20) is connected in the control unit monitoring circuits. On receipt of a first control command from the processor (14), the control unit (19) adjusts the motor rotor to the requisite whole step position nearest the end position. Then the micro-step module (20) adjusts with part step positioning the rotor to the end position by controlling the drive step currents dependent upon the residual rotor rotation. When the next control command is received from the processor, the micro-step module firstly re-sets the rotor to the nearest whole step position, and then a new adjustment can take place. The micro-step module comprises a component connected to the processor for digital/analogue conversion of the processor control signals, and an addition unit connected to the monitoring circuit and coupled between the component and the corresp. drive step (38,38'). |
