PURPOSE:To increase a print recording density and make the print recording density easily variable by changing the arrangement angle of a dot recording element of a printing head in recording paper feeding direction according to output information. CONSTITUTION:A heating element row (a-a') is set at a predetermined angle (theta deg.) in heat sensitive recording paper 4 feeding direction (T) that is, print recording dot line (l-l') direction. In this way of setting, printing dots are formed in a position where a dot position formed by heating elements on the a-a' line has been projected on the l-l' line. The dot density on the l-l' line is converted to 1/costheta times the print recording density, compared with a dot density on the a-a' line. Accordingly, the print recording angle theta can be obtained by the following equation: Print recording angle theta=cos<-1> (dot density of a heating element;desired print recording density). Utilizing this conversion effect, it is made possible to enlarge or contract the print size in linear direction with the same printing data. |
