PURPOSE:To improve responsiveness of a turbine to acceleration upon starting the turbine by controlling a flow rate of steam in response to pressure of said steam for a prescribed period of time after the starting of the turbine, while doing the same in response to a deviation between the rpm of the turbine and reference rpm after the passage of a prescribed period of time. CONSTITUTION:The captioned device is adapted to drive a steam turbine 15 by making use of steam provided from high pressure steam sources 11, 12 via steam adjusting valves 13, 14 are opened and closed by means of valve drive mechanisms 23, 24 controlled by a valve opening instruction generator part 33 via an electricity/hydraulic pressure transducer 22. Thereupon, the valve opening instruction generator part 33 is adapted to issue a first valve opening instruction based on low and high steam pressures PL, PH detected by pressure detectors 31, 32 for a prescribed period of time after starting the turbine. In addition, a second valve opening instruction is issued based on a deviation between actual rpm from a rpm detector 17 and reference rpm after the passage of a prescribed period of time. The second valve opening instruction is adapted to follow the first one within a prescribed period of time. |
