PURPOSE:To attain synthesis without changing a code by inserting a run length code of a length ''0'' of opposite color and applying synthesis when the color is the same. CONSTITUTION:A run length decision section 3 decides that a picture signal inputted via a line control section 2 is a compression signal and a run length code and color information are transmitted to a synthesis section 1. The color information is inputted to a comparator 12 and compared with the black color stored in a color memory 11. When the result of comparision represents a different color, the content of the color memory 11 is rewritten and the color is changed into a white picture signal, which is transmitted as it is and synthesized as it is. When the same color is detected by the comparator circuit 12, a control section 14 extracts the white length ''0'' of the opposite color from a run length memory 13, ''0'' is added to the white length and the result is outputted and the color memory 11 is updated into white information. Thus, the synthesis is attained by inserting black/white information of the run length ''0'' of the synthesized part without converting an original picture signal. |
