PURPOSE:To descale easily a steel material and to reduce a time required for descaling by locally heating the surface of steel material by flames before removing its scales by a chemical or mechanical means. CONSTITUTION:A steel wire rod 2 is drawn out from its coil 1, and is locally heated by a flame blowing burner 3 to the degree that the matrix of wire rod 2 is kept from receiving a bad influence. As a heating means, a high frequency heating or a laser heating, etc. are also available. Next, the wire rod 2 is passed through a shot blasting device 5 to descale it before passing it through a drawing die 6. Further, as a descaling means, a chemical means such as a pickling is used in accordance with a form of steel material to obtain the same results. |
