The invention relates to a system for automated monitoring of the draught and stability of a ship. The monitoring system according to the present invention comprises firstly sensors 1, 2 for detecting the draught of the ship 3, secondly a heeling angle sensor 4, which sensor 1, 2, 4 is coupled to a signal shaper 5, thirdly a unit 7, which is designed to calculate the metacentric height and the displacement and draught of the ship 3 and which is coupled to the output of the signal shaper 5 and the heeling sub-system 8 of the ship 3, fourthly a unit 16 for pre-setting the heeling value of the ship 3, fifthly a heeling angle signal device 17 coupled to the output of the pre-setting unit 16, and sixthly a comparison element 18, which is designed to compare the output signal from the unit 16 with the output signal from the signal device 17 and is coupled to a unit 15 for feeding the heeling sub-system 8 of the ship 3. <IMAGE>
