摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording sheet having water resistance and oil resistance and capable of realizing good-quality printing without interruption with coloration and lowering of sensitivity by adding a 6-membered cyclic tri-borate to an overcoat layer composed primarily of a water-solule high molecular compound provided on a thermal color-forming layer. CONSTITUTION:A 6-membered cyclic tri-boric acid ester corresponds with an organoboron compound having a structure with one borate residue forming 6-member ring with long alkyl group in its molecule, which is represented by the general formula, where X, X'ss, X'', Y, Y'. and Y'' are each H, CH3, C20H5-, C3H7-, CH3O-, C2H5O-, CH3OCH3-, or R'COOCH2-(where R' is a 1C-23C alkyl or alkenl), R is a 1C-24C alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, alkylaryl, alkyloyl, or alkenyloyl, n is 2, 3, or 4, and m is an integer of 0-50. The compound of the formula is excellent as solvent, lubricant, antistatic agent for synthetic resins, and water- or oil-soluble surfactants, featuring having polar and nonpolar portions in its molecule and being very well compatible with water-soluble high molecular compounds. Also, the compound can give an ade quate thickening property and make the surface of hydrophobic substances to be added to the overcost layer hydrophilic. The addition of the compound prevents the occurrence of water repellency, pinholes, uneven recording, etc., and also enhances adhesion with thermal color-forming layer.
