A slider suitable for a sliding clasp fastener for bed linen comprises top and bottom plates with guide channels for the interlocking elements and is made from or coated with a plastics material having an admixture of finely granular stabilising filler in an amount of 10-30% by weight, e.g. glass fibre filler compounded with a polyester resin. Preferably the boundary flanges adjacent the guide channels form supporting faces constituting 25-40% of the slider area in plan. The low thermal conductivity of the slider and the large area of the boundary flanges reduce damage by heating and pressure during laundering. |
