PURPOSE:To facilitate an attaching and detaching operation by dividing a body to an upper image forming unit and lower intermediate image carrying body unit and attaching and detaching the intermediate image carrying body unit by moving horizontally the image forming unit. CONSTITUTION:The body is made dividable to the upper image forming unit B and the lower intermediate image carrying body unit A. A laser tube, rotary polygonal mirror, laser writing device, etc. are housed in the unit B. An intermediate image carrying drum 1, an electrostatic charging electrode 2, a transfer electrode 3, a separating electrode 4, a cleaning device 5, etc. are housed in the unit A. The unit B is moved toward the right as shown by an arrow C in the stage of overhauling the device. The unit A is then vertically attached and detached through the aperture of the unit B after the movement thereof. Since the unit A is vertically attached and detached, the operation is easy and the workability in maintenance and inspection is improved. |
