The invention comprises a method of attaching a load-bearing strut to a chair leg, or more generally to a post. The innovative aspect of the method is that the strut is curved before the attachment location and that this extension past the post brings it to rest approximately at the side of the post's centre and in a specially designed fitting well to the side of the post. Increased gripping power at the attachment point ensures that the strut can be made thinner than would be otherwise possible. Stacking chairs, which are produced according to the method, are also covered by the invention.<IMAGE> |
