An arrangement on a vessel which is intended for use in the collection of pollutants, especially oil, floating on the surface of the water, into a basin (20) for the collection of polluted water and a conveyor belt (21) for transporting the pollutants arriving in the basin to a collection container (17). The basin is designed so that it can be moved vertically, in relation to the vessel, between a lower position, in which a part of the basin's upper edge is under water (33) so that the water can stream into the basin and an upper position, in which the basin's bottom comes above the water level. The arrangement also involves a second conveyor belt (22) for the collection of larger solid objects which are floating on the water. Steering plates (48, 49) are deployed forward of the second conveyor belt (22) for the directing of the solid objects towards the conveyor belt (22) and a rotational drum is used for the propulsion of the solid objects to the second conveyor belt (22).The basin can be raised and lowered via an hydraulic drive unit (29 - 32) and be subsequently reinstalled after various work operations.<IMAGE> |
