发明名称 METHOD OF CONTROLLING IGNITION TIMING
摘要 PURPOSE:To sufficiently enhance the performance of an engine, by widening and narrowing a low speed side range within a knock control range in accordance with the octane number of fuel so that the spark retardation of ignition timing is compensated in accordance with knocking. CONSTITUTION:At step S4 it is judged whether the fuel is high octane number gasoline or regular gasoline. Through steps S5, S8 it is judged whether the operation range is the knock control range or not. If it is judged to be in the knock control range, the steps S7 and S10 are taken so that the spark advance is subjected to the compensation of spark retardation. Thus, the knock control range which is accordance with the kind of fuel may be set to provide a satisfactory engine performance over the entire operation range of the engine.
