PURPOSE:To enable effective and sufficient irradiation with one lamp, in curing ultraviolet curable ink or paint, by arranging an irradiation instrument at specific inclination with respect to a horizontally conveyed article to be irradiated. CONSTITUTION:An irradiation instrument 2 is arrange in a lamp house so as to incline the feed-in side thereof to a downward direction. The inclination thetaof this irradiation instrument is determined under a curing condition by the height H and circumferential length Dpi (wherein D is the max. diameter of a cylindrical article 5 to be irradiated) of the cylindrical article 5 to be irradiated and the light emitting length L of an ultraviolet lamp 4. That is, when L>=2H and L>=Dpi are satisfied, the inclination theta takes a value calculated from theta=Sin<-1> H/LX(1-0.8). By this arrangement, the side surface of the article 5 to be irradiated conveyed while rotated can be uniformly irradiated from the lower part thereof to the upper part thereof or in the reverse direction. |
