A titanium structure (1) is reinforced with supporting structure (2) of some other metal by gas-shielded arc welding (3) the supporting structure (2) directly to the titanium structure (1) if the supporting structure is aluminium, or by gas-shielded arc welding first an aluminium layer onto the titanium structure and then attaching the supporting structure to the welded-on aluminium layer by a conventional welding or soldering. The gas-shielded arc welding may be MIG or TIG.
