Welding the edge of corrugated sheet metal

The welding assembly for making cooling boxes for transformers comprises a clamp, which compresses the edges of the corrugations, and a welding torch whose position is adjusted by a threaded spindle. The length of the clamp jaws corresponds to the depth of the corrugations, and the welding flame cone or arc spans the tolerance gap between two edges. The two devices interact so that the torch moves up and down along the weld edges whil the clamp is pressed together.
