PURPOSE:To make a titled cassette tape small in size, to increase its recording capacity, and also to execute high speed access by providing an endless optical recording medium, and a freely rotatable supporting means for setting the optical recording medium so that it can run in the shape of a belt. CONSTITUTION:An endless optical recording medium 11 is extended like a belt to a driving roller 12 and 13. Each of both ends of the driving roller 12 and 13 is supported so as to freely rotatable by a box-shaped vessel 14, and an endless tape 11 is turned by a rotation given from the outside. Light for executing recording or reproduction is irradiated on the endless tape 11 through a window 15, and its reflected light is read through the window 15 in the same way. In this way, recording or reproduction is executed by running the endless optical recording medium in the shape of a belt, therefore, a sufficient recording capacity can be obtained by a small size, and also high speed access can be executed. |
