PURPOSE:To detect the presence of a fault of a data mark generating circuit by detecting a data mark in a read data at reproduction by a data mark detection circuit and supervising the data mark in a write data at recording. CONSTITUTION:Write data added with a data mark from a data mark generating circuit 5 to serial data from a parallel/serial converting circuit 6 corresponding to recording data of a memory 3 at recording is fed to a data mark detection circuit 8. If the data mark generator 5 is troubled and the data mark is missing, it is detected, its supervisory signal is transmitted to a high-order control section of an optical disc controller 2 to apply processing such as recording stop. Further, recording data is read by an optical disc device 1 at reproduction, the data mark in the read data 10 is detected by the data mark detection circuit 8, the reproducing data is converted into parallel data by a serial/parallel converting circuit 7 and a memory control circuit 4 stores it into the memory 3. Thus, the fault of the data mark generating circuit 5 is detected surely. |
