PURPOSE:To reduce the proportion of unreception by providing a means which performs the normal battery saving BS operation after supplying power continuously only for a preliminarily determined period longer than the period of BS turn-off in a BS stroke at a power-on time. CONSTITUTION:In a receiver whose individual selective call signal ID is An, the BS operation is turned off continuously for a preliminarily determined certain period (for example, about 1min) at the power-on time, and a desired frame synchronizing signal SC is detected. When the signal SC is detected, ID is not received through its detection is tried, and therefore, an incorporated calendar or clock is corrected with information TS in accordance with a pattern of a signal MCS which designates the processing of a reception message, and the BS operation is turned on only from a time Z2 to a time Z5 of T2. If the signal SC is not detected before the elapse of a time corresponding to reception data is confirmed by the incorporated clock after restoration of the BS operation, warning alarm is issued to awaken the attention because a receiver is not within a good service area, and the BS operation is turned off forcibly for a preliminarily determined certain period (for example, about 1min) to detect the signal SC, and the BS operation is restored if the signal SC is not detected for the certain period, and these operations are repeated. Thus, power is supplied continuously for the certain period to reduce the proportion of unreception furthermore. |
