PURPOSE:To execute positioning with high accuracy by holding an optical pickup by one supporting shaft and a roller rolling on a rail fixed to a frame, fixing a rack to an arm, connecting the arm and the optical pickup by a spring, and pressing the rack against a pinion. CONSTITUTION:An optical pickup 1 is supported by a supporting shaft 2, a roller 3, and a rail 4 fixed to a frame, and it is in a state that it can go straight on in the radial direction of a recording medium. A worm 11 transmits a rota tion of a motor 12 shaft to a worm wheel 10, also it is transmitted to a pinion attached onto the same shaft, and it is converted to a linear motion by a rack 8. The rack 8 is fixed to an arm 5 supported by a pivot shaft 6 of the optical pickup, and pressed against a pinion 9 by a spring 7. In case when an abrasion of the rack pinion has been generated, the arm is inclined and an increase portion of a backlash is eliminated. In this way, a dislocation of the optical axis and an out-of-focus are not generated and recording and reproducing can be executed with high density. |
