PURPOSE:To readily detect the wear amount of a carbon brush by observing from the exterior through a window formed at a case of a device the state of a pointer mounted integrally with the carbon brush of a commutator motor. CONSTITUTION:A carbon brush 3 is contained in a carbon brush cap 4, and pressed by a spring 5 toward a commutator 2. A pointer 6 is integrally mounted with the brush 3 to move in the direction of an arrow as the brush 3 wears. The position of the pointer 6 is visible from the exterior through a window formed at a motor case (not shown). Thus, the detection of the wear of the brush 3 is facilitated to effectively exchange the brush. This is adapted for a device using a domestic commutator motor. |
