PURPOSE:To enable the destructive prevention of a fuel cell stack due to reversing polarization by quickly and accurately detecting the reversing polarization based on the differential voltage of the voltage between a neutral point and a positive or negative electrode side. CONSTITUTION:The voltage between the neutral point of a serially connected fuel cell stack 16 and a positive or negative electrode side is measured by voltage detectors 17 and 18. In addition, a comparator 19 quickly and accurately detects the reversing polarization of the stack 16 by the full comparison between the differential voltage of their voltage and the reference voltage coming from a reference voltage generator 20. If this detection output is used, the destruction of the fuel cell stack due to reversing polarization can be prevented and a fuel battery power generating system with high safety can be obtained. |
