PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic sensitive body high in sensitivity and superior in electrostatic chargeability and durability by forming a photoconductive film contg. a specified tropilium (7-membered ring triene) salt compd. on a conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive body enhanced in sensitivity and durability, etc., is obtained by incorporating the compd. in a photoconductive layer, especially, a charge generating layer to form a laminae type photoconductive layer. The compd. is represented by formula I in which m is 0, 1, 2, or 3; each of R1-R6 is alkyl, aralkyl, aryl, or adjacent 2 groups of them may form a condensed ring with a tropilium ring; X is one of groups of formulae II, III, and IV; each of R7, R8 is an optionally substd. aromatic hydrocarbon or heterocyclic group; Y is -O-, -S-, >N-R15, or the like; R15 is optionally substd. alkyl, aralkyl, or aryl; Z is a residue for forming a 5- or 6-membered ring condensed with a 5- or 6-membered optionally substd. hetero ring or an optionally substd. aromatic ring; each of R9-R14 is same as R1; A<-> is an anion; and H on the chain connecting X with the tropilium ring may be substd. for a functional group. |
