The present invention relates to a ski safety binding intended to hold a boot on a ski, including two lateral and vertical wings for retaining the boot which are articulated, respectively, about two pivoting axes which converge upwards and intersect at a point located in the vertical and longitudinal plane of symmetry of the binding, and an elastic energising mechanism with an adjustable release threshold. This binding is characterised in that the projection of each pivoting axis 8, 9 of a retention wing 4, 5 over a transverse plane perpendicular to the ski forms, with the horizontal plane of the ski, an angle of between 0 and 45 DEG ; in other words, the two pivoting axes 8, 9 together form an angle of between 180 DEG and 90 DEG . <IMAGE>
