PURPOSE:To uniformize temperature distribution in the entire part without excessively reducing the width of staggered lines, by diagonally arranging heating elements and staggering them in a sub-scanning direction. CONSTITUTION:The heating elements 2 constituting a thermal head 1 are diagonally arranged in parallel to each other, and have staggered parts 3 along the sub-scanning direction Y. The element 2 has the structure wherein a glaze layer 5 for accumulating heat is provided on the surface of a substrate 4, a resistor layer 6 is provided on the surface of the layer 5, lead wires 7 and an anti-oxidation layer 8 are provided thereon, and an abrasion-resistant layer 9 is provided on the surface of the layer 8. The thermal head shows better results as compared to a conventional thermal head in a step stress test, a continuous pulse test, a printing test, resistance measurement or the like. |
