PURPOSE:To inhibit foreign matter from penetrating into the vicinity of an ion-generating part, by providing foreign matter penetration preventing means between a surface on the ion-generating side of an ion head and an opposite surface of a dielectric body. CONSTITUTION:The foreign matter penetration preventing member 13 is fitted to an ion head base 14 through an elastic member 13a. The member 13a, which presses the member 13 in the direction for pressing against the surface of a drum 8 when the base 14 is disposed at a predetermined position and pressed from above, is preferably formed of a rubber, an elastic plastic, a foamed plastic or the like. The member 13 is so disposed as to extend in the longitudinal direction of the base 14, and as shown in A-A cross-sectional view, it is provided with steps of about several tens mum at both end parts thereof, whereby it is positioned with a minute spacing from the drum 8 in an image-forming region of the drum 8. |
